ANNOUNCEMENT AND CHATS CONTINUE

Hello Family of Thrive Africa Incorporated! We are excited to be part of a cause that is going to change humans lives and I am convicted that the Lord will take us through; however, it is not going to be easy because there are hills to climb, mountains to jump over, and seas to skyrocket when it comes to decision making, volunteering for the organization, leaving your premises and traveling to meetings, and among others. In the midst of these challenges, we are convinced that better days lie ahead of us; therefore, we remain committed to the vision knowing that the vision might tarry; nevertheless, it will eventually come to past. As we prepare for this meeting, let us brainstorm individually in our own corner to hear what God is telling us about the organization and our roles to be played out. We have proposed a tentative action plan for the organization which might form part of the agenda during the meeting. It is a skeleton start and will need to be developed further by the Director of Program; however, we want you to take a look at it before coming to the meeting; therefore, we will email you a copy to the email you have provided prior to the meeting. We understand that some people were unable to provide the email address; as the result, we have uploaded a copy at the PMI’S website under the NGO’S News tab under announcement. We advise that if you have access to a printer, you could print a copy to go through it. Everyone needs to contribute to the development of the plan. This meeting is going to bring us the first time in person; therefore, it will also be a time to know one another. Thrive Africa Incorporated, we can do it and indeed we will be present in this meeting. Jallah Koiyan

Hello Thrive Africa Incorporated! We understand your concern with reference to distance that might hinder you to physically attend the scheduled meeting; however, we suggest you could attend the meeting by calling one of the group members’ messenger account, Mr. Richard. We will make sure that Mr. Richard’s Messenger account is active at this time so can call it. You could elect to call the video or the phone. Since you know the date and time of the meeting, please call Mr. Richard at 1:00 PM to attend the meeting. This message is for people who live outside Montserrado and Margibi who cannot attend the meeting due to distance. Thrive Africa Incorporated, we can attend this meeting and I believe you are in gear to attend it. Let’s do it. Jallah Koiyan

Hello Family of Thrive Africa Incorporated! When God gives a vision, He usually gives a blueprint for the vision to the visionary. The blueprint is layout in the handbook. Please read the handbook at the PMI’S website to internalize it. Thrive Africa Incorporated emerged from Macy Developmental Program to Help the Needy is the God’s giving vision birthed seven years ago to inspire and to empower for progress so that everyone will reach his or her potential in order to attain dignity and equality. This is achieved through the programs’ objectives. Thrive Africa Incorporated members, please talk, see, walk, dream, subscribe, and own this vision because it is our lives. Jallah Koiyna

Good evening Thrive Africa Incorporated Family! When God sees the needs of a particular group or a nation, he drops an idea in the soul of an individual called the visionary. This idea called innovation (vision) must be nurtured. In the nurturing stage, God will send people called enablers to subscribe to the vision and become supporters to the endeavor. In the corporate vision, God usually sends people who also are visionaries based on their abilities or giftings. That’s being said, among us are businessmen, masons, carpenters, accountants, writers, journalists, secretaries, pastors, electricians, leaders etc. People who hold these careers areas, are visionaries in their areas of expertise. Your works as visionary are integrals significant to the corporate vision of Thrive Africa Incorporated; therefore, you significantly form the work force of TAI to make this dream a reality. Please bring your talents and allow them to be used to the furthering the organizational mission/vision: Inspiring and empowering so that everyone reaches his or her potential in order to attain dignity and equality. We contribute to our national development when we allow our talents to be used. Thrive Africa Incorporated, we can do it; therefore, please get on board. You are welcomed!

Jallah Koiyan

Hello Family of MACY! I am pleased to announce to the group members that our name has undergone some changes. We are now called ‘Thrive Africa Incorporated.’ The consensus was unanimously reached by group members who attended the last meeting. All documents of Macy will be modified to bear this name including Articles of Incorporation, Human Resources manual, Financial Procurement document and among others. I encourage group members to periodically visit the link at www.praiseministiesinternational.com to read the handbook. Wordings and pictures are powerful tools for imagination. Imaginations are driving forces to accomplishing mission objectives. The handbook outlines the agenda for ‘Thrive Africa Incorporated.’ If you are with us, I want you to read the handbook. Jallah Koiyan

Hello MACY family! Please text your email and phone number to the group chatroom if you have not done so. A database is being developed for group members’ information on PMI’s website. Jallah Koiyan

Hello Family of MACY! We have a stranger who arrived few days ago. She is very beautiful. She has come through the union of Mr. and Mrs. Richard. What a blessing! I am pleased to announce this to the group. You can pay a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Richard’s house and present them a nice gift/gifts. Congratulations to the Richards for the beautiful queen being born in the family!! Jallah Koiyan

Massah and the other colleagues, we will certainly get to everyone. For now, in the formative state if the organization all of us cannot meet until we have a point of contact I.e. an office ( rented) from where we will deliberate on to the point of having our own office. So I am working on modalities to have a zoom meeting for all the listed persons. Trust me, we are working behind the scenes to have all necessary documents pertaining to the establishment of a non-governmental organization. Some of the documents include a five-year strategic plan, Human Resource Manual, Finance and Procurement procedures manual, Articles of Incorporation, Gender and communications policy, Child Safeguarding Policy and others. So we need to lay the foundations of the organization before we can think of legal registration, Accreditation, implementations. Lots of paper works to be done. Alimou Bayoh

Dreams are ideas that need nurturing. We are nurturing the dreams. Dreams are saviors of humanity; therefore, where there are no dreams or visions, the people die. We need visionary leaders who serve in government. Visionary leaders die to self in order to serve their people. Indeed, the Macy group cannot be an exception to visionary leadership. We are. Jallah Koiyan

Sir, the NGO is gradually undergoing development with reference to documentations, its registration, and incorporation. After this phase, we will look at where to build the office building after an assessment is being made with reference to the needs and the targeted populations the NGO wants to serve locally. Once that is done, we will construct the office and put in the necessary materials that office should have. This will be followed by human resources department in order to staff the office with qualified personnels. Let’s us follow the lead of Mr. Alimou Bayoh. This is the development stage. Jallah Koiyan

Greatness is in vision and comes alive when the visionary walks, talks, thinks, speaks, and implements the vision. Vision is life and without vision people die and their contributions to society are never actualized. We are placed on planet to replenish, to increase, to subdue, to dominate, and to leave legacy. Don’t give up your dreams because they are lives for you and your generations. Jallah Koiyan

The MACY’S group, thanks for hosting the preliminary meeting. We are heading somewhere. This is a journey; therefore, tiredness, discouragement, and among others are inevitable; nevertheless, we should continue hanging there with patience depending on God while playing our human parts and God will do the rest. There are things that we should do that God does not have control over. Does that mean that God is limited in power? No, he is not limited in power; however, God has given us free will to decide our future with no interference. Today’s meeting, we decided to meet; therefore, we did. Thanks to Mr. Alimou Bayou and the MACY’S group for hosting today’s meeting. The items on the agenda outlined, were purposeful and subjected today’s preliminary meeting. Bravo! Jallah Koiyan

I really appreciate the wonderful ideas expressed by everyone relating to the startup of a nongovernmental organization (NGO). Your creativity and innovation will actually generate a people focused firm with the intent to set a legacy that will a positive impact on the Liberian society. Please continue to keep the chatroom or forum active with those reservoirs of knowledge you’ve acquired over the years. Together, and with commitment and integrity, we can make our nation a place that one wouldn’t love to depart from. I hold all of at high esteem! Sorsor M Koiyan

I want thank you guys for the hard work If you need my input regarding the organization establishment I will available. The first most things1. Consultant 2.article of incorporation 3. Accreditation document 4. Business registry 4. Tax clarence etc. What is the vision and mission of the organization. Who are the beneficiaries, areas of thematic, location. As Bayo said, it has processes but need need more time. Thanks it is welcoming. Yuku Ford

Thanks Yuku. The mission of the organization is “inspiring and empowering the poor for progress.” The vision is”a world in which everyone reaches their full potential.” The thematic pillars will be reflected in the strategic plan and include education, agriculture, health, women’s rights/gender equality etc. Articles of incorporation almost completed, and when approved and endorsed then we will do the business registration and others. Thanks Yuku for your inputs like a programs person. Alimou Bayoh

Sis. Yuku Ford is the woman of integrity, a God fearing woman, and one you can trust. She is the graduate of Phebe’s Health Care System and holds a BSN as the registered nurse. Sis. Yuku, you are most welcome to the program. Jallah Koiyan

The potential Financial Officer will submit resume or CV reflecting the necessary skills, and will face the interview as you have said. Jallah Koiyan

Thanks to the team, can you be specified with your vision because, some people have a potential but don,t realize while other have but realized it. Can be a marginalized people? Yuku Ford

Yes, the organization needs operational funds to empower him speed up document writing, hosting meetings, and being mobile to move to places. I am working on the operation funds. It is around $300.00 to $500.00 U.S. Any operation funds sent prior to the preliminary meeting, group members, will be informed, and the organization needs to set up some leadership structure to account for the day to day operation until everything regarding documents writing, the incorporation of the organization, and among others actualized; then, the main leadership of the organization with reference to Board of Directors and the workforce will be setup after the construction of the office building and the writing of policies with reference to financial management, financial disbursement, assets coordination and use, staff responsibility with reference job description, and disclaimer that relate to organizational property and among others. Building an organization has lot of works to be done. Jallah Koiyan

Inspire. Empower. Progress: Inspiring and empowering poor people for progress. A world in which everyone reaches their full potential. My thoughts. I hope that we will make this organization a very good one. We are not going to rush- we will do things in a way that will be admirable. Alimou Bayoh

My thoughts about mission and vision statements. More to say ….. Alimou Bayoh

That’s a great mission statement from Mr. Alimou Bayoh about the organization. What is your idea or suggestion? Please respond group members to the question. Jallah Koiyan

If and when we may have fully established a charitable nonprofit non-governmental organization, there will be some issues that would require physical presence of staffs. That is the reason why we need an office staffed by competent people, from where our operations or interventions will emanate. Capacity assessments by donors or funding agencies, developing project proposals for fundings, strategic planning, etc will certainly require the presence of some key staffs. It will also be an opportunity for colleagues to share with others information and ideas about what they have been doing, etc. I can’t write everything now but I am talking from experience of so many, many years of humanitarian work. We have to go the extra mile in laying the foundation from which the organization will sprout……much more to say. Alimou Bayoh

We will follow your lead as you have said. Please work out the necessity to have group members converged in Montserrado and Margibi regions. Those in Lofa could be reached through teleconference now due to transportation problem. Jallah Koiyan

Pastor Jallah thanks for the group members outlined so far, my concern is that there is no gender balance reflected in the list. Maintaining a gendered perspective in what ever we do is very important. In terms of donor support or funding the issue of gender is usually strongly considered, some times it’s a prerequisite for assistance. Alimiou Bayoh

The names listed are not being listed to include on the Board of Directors; however, some could include. The names presented could form part of the workforce. There are Accountant, Electrician, Mason, or Secretary among the names presented. They are presented with the idea of producing workforce and not on the basis of Board of Directors. We still need to look for women to balance the gender when it comes to selecting Board of Directors. Please recommend women as well as Lawyer on the team. Thanks for the concern. Jallah Koiyan

OK. Even for workforce we need a gender balance. Basically in whatever we do. Current trends in humanitarian and development initiatives must always reflect gender. Always keep this in mind. Board of incorporators, Advisory board, staffing etc. Should always be gender- balanced. Alimou Bayoh

Ok, I will present some names to your office. Jallah Koiyan

Attention Thrive Africa Incorporated! The proposed plan is not the body of an agenda, rather it is an outline of the plan that should be written in document form when it is looked at, discussed, and consensus is reached by the body during the meeting; therefore, it eventually becomes an item on the agenda. The outline is not yet complete assuming that individuals in the group have inputs to contribute to the contents of the outline. This is one of the reasons we have emailed you the proposed action plan prior to the meeting so that you can look at it to brainstorm before coming to the meeting. Jallah Koiyan

I don’t believe in suggestions that will discourage people in time like this! Please let us understand that this is the starting point of this organization okay. The suggestion about teleconference is not bad at all, but how can we have a teleconference while the organization have not been established? So let us established the organization first please. Richard Saylee

We are unable to have a meeting that will suit everyone’s preferred time. Someone’s busy day is another man’s less busy day and vice versa. Sometimes we make sacrifices in order to achieve our goals. Club meetings, Association meetings, susu meetings are usually held on Sundays after service. In this formative stage of the organization we all need to make sacrifices and give in time to achieve our outputs in striding towards our objectives. Alimou Bayoh

The Sunday meeting is a bit embarrassing due to some religious engagements that usually undertake. I suggest that subsequent meetings be arranged for Saturdays. Sorsor M Koiyan

It sounds wisdom. The Program Director needs to revisits the schedule due business of people on Sunday as the result of religious activity. Your suggestion is well taken for future meetings and thank you for agreeing to come to this meeting despite of your engagement. Jallah Koiyan

We understand that people might have problem coming to the meeting due to other issues; however, it will be wise to come in person to discuss major issues surrounding the organization and to have aquitances with one another. These are some of the reasons we could not hold this meeting as a teleconference due to the nature of the meeting. We encourage everyone to try to be in this physically especially those who live in Montserrado and Margibi County. I believe the next meeting could be held as a teleconference. Thanks for the understanding. Jallah Koiyan

OK you are right. Pastor Barnie

A very good tentative proposed plan. I’m thinking as to whether or not, we will be able to exhaust all of it on the meeting day. K. Masssah Koiyan

Great plan but the venue of the meeting will be the problem. Can we do conference call? Pastor Barnie

Good morning Thrive Africa Incorporated! Today’s meeting is historical and indeed we have made history. It will be documented in our archives and be read on an occasion when the organization has grown making impacts to the community of nations. Can you conceive and perceive what good impact you will make to community of nations when you become partners of progress in national development to alleviate hunger in the nation? Thrive Africa Incorporated, we are placed on Earth for someone’s betterment and to leave a legacy. When we all have realized, conceived, and perceived this simple truth; then, will we become available to be used of God in our organizations according to the gifting and ability we carry. Thrive Africa Incorporated, indeed we are available, skilful, gifted, and will use our skills to bring this vision alive because it is our lives and lives of the next generation. Have a fruitful discussion today Thrive Africa Incorporated! Jallah Koiyan

Hi Assumed Official! Trust you doing well. Unfortunately for me, I’m unable to attend tomorrow’s meeting. I developed malaria and severe cold two days ago, and it has been bothering me a lot. I thought it could get away immediately after starting medications, but to no avail. I’m very sorry for the inconvenience this may the organization. Sorsor M Koiyan

Myself i will not be there due to last minute to time condition beyond my control. However, i will follow on messenger. God bless. Pastor Barnie

Am so sorry to hear this Mr Sorsor Koiyan. However we are going to do actually according to the word of God, as the professor have said in his statement and I Cort let us brainstorm individually in our own corner to hear what God is telling us about the organization is highly challenges but we can make it happen by the grace of God. Richard Saylee
